Springer Salmon Season is Here!

I’ve been itching to hit the river in hopes to catch an early Spring Salmon, and myself and the family had an opportunity to do so last weekend. The day started with Tucker’s final basketball game of the season ending at 1pm, so we did not have much time. We packed some snacks, grabbed the boat, and by the time we hit the launch it was just past 4pm. While motoring out to our spot I realized I left my phone in the truck back at the launch. My phone pretty much is my fishing license. I wasn’t about to go all the way back and waste time. Fortunately I keep the kids licenses in the boat, so we still had 2 rods. I’d be their guide, Mom could sit back and relax…and the kids can fish!

To keep it short, there were no fish. Not even a bite. That seemed to be the case for most folks I talked to back at the launch as well. It’s still early, but it was nice to get out and see what I need before the season really kicks into gear.

This is now our second season with the boat. Last year we maybe, maybe got out 10 times. I considered it a scout / learning season. Hopefully this year I’ll be able to take what I learned from last season and finally get a salmon in the boat! It’s going to happen folks!

Stay tuned!!
